YOUNG ADULTS
Welcome to the Young Adult Community at Saint Mary of the Lake and Our Lady of Lourdes!
We are so glad you are here. Whether you have lived in Chicago for years, just moved here or are simply seeking a welcoming space to grow and explore your faith, you have a home with us.
Our easily-accessible community brings together young adults from across the parish to share in small-group fellowship, prayer, local service, social events and everyday life in the city. From weekly worship and seasonal faith discussions to casual beach days, pickup sports, and social outings, there are many opportunities to build meaningful relationships and live out your faith alongside your parish peers. Instead of feeling like just another face in a huge parish, our community is all about intentional depth, genuine personal connection, and shared purpose.
No matter where you find yourself on your spiritual journey, there is always a seat at the table for you here. We would love to meet you at our next gathering or after Mass, so please feel free to introduce yourself and dive right in.
You are welcome here!

The Rosary Series:
September 9 & 23 6:00pm - Horner Park
October 21, November 4 6:15pm - Saint Mary’s
Come and join women in their 20s and 30s to reflect and learn about the mysteries of the holy rosary. Each session in the series will unpack a different set of mysteries. Following this insightful discussion, we will be praying this devotion as a group. Rosaries and pamphlets will be provided as needed. The September meetings will be outside at Horner Park with a meeting location of Chicago’s Red Hots before relocating to a grassy area and beginning promptly at 6:15. Please bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on. (Rain location- parish office.) The October and November meetings will be at the parish office in the Bishop Hayes room.
Craft Night: Making the Rosary:
November 18 & December 2 6:15pm - Saint Mary’s
Come and join women in their 20s and 30s as we conclude our rosary series by making rosaries! The rosaries made will be given to those going through the OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults) process. Donations are encouraged so we can purchase supplies for the event! Beverages and snacks will be provided. We will meet in the Bishop Hayes room at the parish office.
